Love this song. One of the last songs my dad sang before he passed. He was 97 years old. That was 2 years ago. He was WWII barrack mates with the person who got credit for writing this song after he got his divorce letter from his wife. He and my dad got drunk and wrote this song. The third verse was written entirely by my dad. He never got credit because he didn't want it. I was born in 1948 and heard it many, many times. Dad loved the way Dolly sany it.

The story goes that my older Brother's best Friend Paul , a good 10 yrs older than me went to Canada circa 94/95.... he came back after near on 6 months. I remember a few weeks later he came round our house with this album and said "guys check this out" he then said to me "i know you love acid jazz, but give it a chance" i listened to it, loved it, love it and will love it to the end. It is such good album and this song was one of my favs from the album. A few weeks later at school i realised that near on everyone had bought it. One of the best albums of the 90s. A great song.
